Step back in time in North Bay’s College Heights neighbourhood. Houses over 100 years old stand amongst mature landscaping on large lots. Home to main university campus, College Heights encompasses history and the present day, from the heritage homes to the thousands of students who have chosen North Bay for their post-secondary degree programs.
Sharing a campus with Nipissing University is Canadore College, a college of applied arts and technology. Built on an escarpment that looks over Lake Nipissing, the university lands provide many outdoor activities and sights year round, from beautiful Duchesney Falls to kilometres of walking trails in the summer months that turn to snow-shoe and cross country ski trails in the winter.
Two major hospitals are situated in the College Heights district. In 2009, One Kids Place Children’s Treatment Centre opened in a new, permanent facility. North Bay Regional Health Centre, adjacent to the university, is a 400 bed facility and also provides numerous outpatient programs for the region. Affiliated directly with several Ontario colleges and universities, the hospital is a major teaching centre for a variety health professional students.
Original landmark homes, newer single family detached, row and semi-detached homes are found in College Heights. There is plenty of student rental housing, too. Easily accessible to all amenities and campus facilities, College Heights residents are provided a stunning natural setting, well-established neighbourhoods, and year round leisure activities at their doorstep.
