West End

Bordering vast Lake Nipissing, West End North Bay is a residential district due south of the College and University Campuses and major Health facilities.

Beautiful homes line well established streets. The lovely subdivision of Pinewood offers spacious 2 storey family homes on expansive lots.  There’s a very comforting feel to the area, with homes lovingly cared for, some with brick exterior finishings as well as accent shutters on many windows.  Cozy bungalows sit on beautifully landscaped lots. Duplexes, condos and rental apartments are conveniently located close to transit, just steps to the waterfront.

Greenways and parks are located throughout the district of West End. John Kennedy Park is a 6.92 hectare nature park running through the neighbourhood providing paths along the stream banks. A monument commemorating the 300th anniversary of Jacques Cartier's first voyage to Canada was erected near Lake Nipissing.  Many ‘parkettes’ are found, which are small green spaces, usually along busier streets and at intersections.

This mainly residential, affordable neighbourhood is a splendid place to raise a family, with easy access  to schools, university, shopping, hospital, good transit and sports facilities.  It’s an excellent location close to downtown and the marina.
