EDUCATION IN LONDON
London has two English speaking school boards; Thames Valley District School Board and London District Catholic School Board.
Thames Valley District School Board is one of the largest Public School boards in Ontario with a student population of over 75,500. The board offers a full range of programs including a school for the arts, alternative education and French Immersion. They have 123 elementary and 23 secondary schools.
The London District Catholic School Board has 48 elementary and 8 secondary schools. Their student population is 21,000. Their programs include French Immersion, special education and International Baccalaureate (offered at Catholic Central High School).
Children of French Language Rights holders are eligible to attend the French language elementary and secondary schools in London. These schools are governed by either Conseil Scolaire de District du Centre-Sud-Ouest; for public education or Conseil Scolaire de District des Ecoles Catholiques du Sud-Ouest; for Catholic education.
In addition to the public and Catholic school boards, London boasts several private school options. Private school that operate in Ontario are considered businesses or non-profit organizations.
