Why is it called the Junction? Probably because of its history, it was a junction, originally of two First Nations trails and then of the Canadian Pacific Railway's of the Ontario and the Quebec lines with the Toronto, Grey and Bruce and Credit Valley lines.

Old bakeries now sit to vegan and glutten free shops, trendy coffee shops, changes that are welcome by the long time residents. The new developments on the other hand worry some of the old timers but they are embrace by the younger buyers.

Another bit of history for you, "The Village of West Toronto Junction" was founded in 1884 at the intersection of Dundas and Keele and was merged with the villages of Carlton and Davenport in 1889.

European immigrants moved to the area in the early 1900's. Now it's one of the fastest growing communities in Toronto, with restaurants, beer establishments, galleries and condo developments.
